Week in Review: The Dresden Restaurant, Palm Springs and more!

When we are on the road, here are my priorities:
1. Work
2. Running/Exploring
3. Blogging

This was a busy week full of numbers 1 and 2, so saddle up for our week in review.

MONDAY

Last Monday (March 11), we squeezed in one last run on the oceanfront path near Manhattan, Hermosa and Redondo Beaches. I ran 6 miles with Casey, dropped him off, ran to the nearby track and added on 4 more to even out at 10 miles total.

Later that night we rewarded ourselves with a trip to Rock'N Fish in Manhattan Beach. I ordered the Oak Grilled Turkey Burger (surprise, surprise) and Casey had the Oak Grilled Cajun Spiced Swordfish Sandwich (Swordfish Sandwich...say that three times fast).

Afterward, we headed to The Dresden Restaurant in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles which served as a scene in one of Casey's favorite movies...

Name that movie:

Unfortunately, we missed Marty and Elayne. If you hit up The Dresden, go on a night between Tuesday through Saturday so you won't miss this dynamic duo and arrive early to get a seat.

TUESDAY

Tuesday started off on the right foot with a breakfast stop at Manhattan Bread & Bagel. They had some really delicious homemade granola that I drooled over and really wanted to buy, but chose not to as we were changing hotels. Therefore, you should probably go, purchase the granola and tell me how good it is. If you really love me, maybe you'll send me some too.

Bonus: Manhattan Bread & Bagel is right next to local running store, Village Runner

Once we killed our breakfast bagels, we cruised on over to the bank where this lovely sign greeted us. Apparently in Southern California your parking is not limited to 25 minutes or perhaps 30...nope, 24 minutes and not a second over.

Afterward we dropped off our expenses and I noticed something on Facebook that MADE MY DAY:

Thanks, Eugene Marathon for the awesome shout-out!

Finally, we packed up and checked out of our hotel and made our way to our next spot in Corona, California. Once we threw down our bags, we hopped back into our van and traveled to Palm Springs, CA to see my brother and his wife as their tour was FINALLY back within radius of us. On the way there, we saw another food truck/experiential marketing tour...Hi, Coffee Mate!

We had dinner at Azul Tapas Lounge (tip: get one of the awesome table-swings) and unfortunately this is the only proof that we visited PS:

WEDNESDAY-FRIDAY

WORK.
FAST FORWARD.
This reminds me, wouldn't it be great to have a "fast forward" or a "freeze" button like Zach Morris did on "Saved by the Bell?" Man, I miss that show.

SATURDAY

More work, but Nate and Kate surprised us at our hotel in Corona! It was a pleasant surprise and a great night as Casey caught up with an old friend and then we got to have some more family fun time with N&K.

AND, because we all know I love TJ's here is a new favorite wine that we all thoroughly enjoyed. Casey loved it, Nate and Kate raved about it and guess what? It only cost me a whopping $4.99 from Trader Joe's.

Here's more info about this smooth organic Green Fin red table wine.

SUNDAY

Yesterday we wrapped up the LA/Riverside market, tracked our friend Amy Pine in the LA Marathon, donated some food to a local fire department and celebrated another successful tour stop with our FAVORITE turkey burger from THE CATCH in Anaheim, California (still savoring each bite).

Next stop: Sacramento.

QUESTIONS FOR YOU: DID YOU RUN THE LA MARATHON?

ARE YOU A FAN OF BIRD BURGERS?

WHAT ARE SOME FUN THINGS YOU DID LAST WEEK?
