Debt Free, New Wallet, SD and Catchy Tunes

We all celebrate special occasions like birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, etc. From this day forward I will celebrate this monumental day, January 9, the day I PAID OFF MY STUDENT LOANS!

Cue the music...DANCE party! Okay, maybe that was just my bedroom...after I hung up the phone with the Mohela customer service representative...equipped with Risky Business dance moves but with way more clothing and less coordination. More like this.

Anyway, pretty exciting day.

With that said, my wallet is now smaller literally and figureatively.

I've been using the same wallet for a couple of years now, it happens to be broken (the clasp no longer works so it doesn't shut) but that's nothing a hair tie wrapped around my wallet can't fix? Right? Okay, well Casey doesn't seem to like my logic or my janky wallet so he has been hinting that I invest in a new one for some time. I caved and now I'm the proud owner of the cute Dakine wallet pictured above.

After I was done bustin' some moves, I went for a 5-mile run around the neighborhood trying to tackle most of the hills in our area and finished with a 1-minute plank (join our 50-day plank a day streak).

(This is not a hill...and this is also not in my neighborhood)

I have been breaking in my second (identical) pair of Brooks PureConnect shoes. My absolute FAVORITE pair of running shoes of ALL TIME. Loaded statement, but it's true. They fit my feet like a glove (or maybe I should say like a really comfy sock) but they've never left a blister and they feel like they were made for my feet. A little obsessed.

*By the way, they're currently on sale at Zappos! (free shipping)

Just like every run is different, so are my tunes. Every run or race I find myself rocking out to either a single song or a few songs that I'll play over and over again because for some reason that particular song is getting my blood flowing. Especially tunes with a catchy beat, because my legs will mimic it and I'll run faster.

Lately, I have not been able to get enough of two songs. Usually I don't listen to hip hop in my down time but when I'm running or working out it's a MUST.

So here are my two explicit current jams (that's your warning--please don't judge me on the lyrics, just remember it's about the BEAT):

Clique-Kanye West, Jay-Z and Big Sean

Thrift Shop (feat. Wanz)-Macklemore & Ryan Lewis *this video is hilarious.

By the way, I am a big fan of thrift shopping. The Goodwill we used to go to in Denver is so fact, so awesome they now have a Goodwill boutique called Deja Blue. Yes, you read that correctly.

My mom is the most important person in my "clique" so the perfect way to end this thrilling day (besides watching the return of Nashville) was to book my mom a flight for a 1-week stay to visit us in San Diego! She's never been and we're going for work, so lets make it happen...right? Hope SoCal is ready for us.
