Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park: Alpharetta, GA

As part of the 2011 Verizon Street Team Tour we have the pleasure of working pre-promotions at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park located in Alpharetta, Georgia. Casey and I were lucky enough to relive high school by attending the Goo Goo Dolls concert recently featuring Parachute and Michelle Branch. I have to say...
the Goo Goo Dolls are legit in concert (along with Michelle Branch). Although it's clear that lead singer, John Rzeznik, needs a break about every two songs and cues back up, Robby Takac, to do his best New Found Glory impersonation while concert-goers refill beverages and take bathroom breaks--overall, it was a stellar performance. Nowadays with the invention of Auto-Tune it's hard to imagine a musician sounding just as good in person as they do on the radio. Both Casey and I were taken aback by the quality John Rzeznik continues to bring to the stage after fifteen years as "Black Balloon" and "Iris" sounded as if it were streaming right through "Sally"--my 1996 Chevy Cavalier.

Secondly, the amphitheatre is a fantastic venue for concerts located just north of Atlanta in Alpharetta, Georgia. Literally there wasn't a bad seat in the entire venue. There are also lawn tickets available for those that don't want to deplete their wallet. Just be prepared to spend a lot of money on concessions as a small caesar wrap cost us $7.00 (plus tax) and a Powerade ran for a whopping $5.00.

If you're in Georgia or passing through Atlanta, I highly recommend taking in a concert at this venue and I promise I'm not being biased just because Verizon owns the naming rights. To view acts coming through or to book your concert tickets visit the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre's offical website.

I am stoked one of my all time favorite bands, Incubus, will be in town on Sept. 17 and I'm keeping my fingers crossed we'll be able to make the show. If not, don't forget to at least check out the Verizon Street Team located just outside of the West Gate before the following concerts: Death Cab for Cutie and Miranda Cosgrove.
