Travel Tunes: Foster the People
Two things: 1. We all have guilty pleasures in life. One of mine is reading Perez Hilton....sadly, on a daily basis. 2. When you are constantly on the road, you need a good set of travel tunes. This week's recommendation comes from my new obsession with Foster The People--whom I first heard about while shamelessly consuming Perez Hilton.
A California based indie pop band that just formed in 2009, Foster the People, has already made a huge impact across the world with an international tour and recent performances at SXSW and Lollapalooza 2011. Their album Torches has killer tracks from their smash hit Pumped Up Kicks to their second single Helena Beats to a few of my favorites: I Would Do Anything For You, Don't Stop (Color on the Walls), Houdini, Broken Jaw, Call It What You Want, etc. In my opinion, there's not a bad track on the album. It's one of those great records that you can play over...and over...and over again.
In fact, just stop reading this blog and take a listen to their first single "Pumped Up Kicks" to form your own opinion. I hope all of my fellow "roadies" and frequent readers enjoy Torches as much as I do! :)
